Cornelis was born in May 1804 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and his baptism took place there on May 27th, 1804.1 2  Cornelis' father is Jacobus Ramstijn and his mother was Martina Mes.  His paternal grandparents are Adriaan Ramstyn and Adriana Vissers; his maternal grandparents are Martinus Mes and Adriana van Diemen. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Adriaan, Martinus, Martinus, Johanna, Adriana, Dingena, Greta, Cornelia and Geertrui.  He was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 51 on October 7th, 1855 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).2
