Jestyn was born on June 29th, 1906 in Mount Morgan.1   Jestyn's father was Zalic (Zelig) Heiser and his mother was Louisa  Caroline Carter.  His paternal grandparents were Solomon Heiser and Sarah Hyman; his maternal grandparents were Thomas George Carter and Fanny Bailey. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Charles, <Unknown>, Emmannuel, Florence, Esther, Rosetta and Ruth.  He was the sixth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 91 in 1997.1
