Florence Heiser

Florence was born on December 12th, 1892 in Mount Morgan.¹ Florence's father was Zalic (Zelig) Heiser and her mother was Louisa Caroline Carter. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Heiser and Sarah Hyman; her maternal grandparents were Thomas George Carter and Fanny Bailey. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Charles, <Unknown>, Jestyn, Emmannuel, Esther, Rosetta and Ruth. She was the oldest of the eight children. She was fostered by Charles Robert Norris & Esther Augusta Heiser. She died at the age of 76 on December 27th, 1968 in Sydney.¹

  Florence was brought up by her Aunt Esther (Zalic’s sister) and it is her diary written in London that confirms the link between our families. Esthers husband Charles Norris was the postmaster on Thursday Island.
