Corbin was born about 1832.  Corbin's father was Samuel Knowles and his mother was Ann (Annie).  His paternal grandfather was James Knowles and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Biggs. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Chester, Manoah, Samuel, James, John , Frank, Harriett, Ruth, Caroline, Melissa, Elizabeth and Mary Ann.
