Eliza was born in 1813.  Eliza's father was Henry Spencer and her mother was Ann Carter.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Spencer and Mary Coles. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, George, John, Ann and Sally.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 73 in 1886.
