Ann was born in 1800 in Bursledon, Hampshire and her christening took place there on June 29th, 1800.1 2   Ann's father was Henry Spencer and her mother was Ann Carter.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Spencer and Mary Coles. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, George, John, Sally and Eliza.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 64 in 1864.
