Mary was born in 1717 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire and her christening took place there on April 23rd, 1717.1 2   Mary's father was Edward Peck and her mother was Mary Piper.  Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Piper and Barbara Dennett. She had two brothers and a sister, named Edward, Joseph and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
