Ann was born in 1773 in Kellington, Yorkshire and her christening took place there in July 1773.1 2   Ann's father was Thomas Moverley and her mother was Ann Weldrake.  Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas Moverley and Mary  Ward. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Mary, Hannah and Elizabeth.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
