John Wynne Hughes

John was born on February 2nd, 1896 in 43 Larch Road, Birkenhead, Cheshire.¹ John's father was John William Hughes and his mother was Elizabeth Ann Turvey. His maternal grandparents were George Turvey and Elizabeth Roberts. He had four brothers and three sisters, named George, Edwin, Herbert, Ronald, Margaret, Gwladys and Gwendoline. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died as a war casualty at the age of 22 in 1918 in France.¹
