Sarah Eliza Horncastle

Sarah was born on January 20th, 1865 in Mile End N Town, Middlesex and her christening took place on February 16th, 1865 in St Philip the Apostle, Stepney.¹ Sarah's father was Samuel John Horncastle and her mother was Elizabeth Howard Richardson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas James Horncastle and Elizabeth Ritchie; her maternal grandparents were William Richardson and Mary Howard. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Samuel, William, George, Caroline, Rebecca and Elizabeth. She was the second oldest of the eight children.
