Joseph was born in 1744.  Joseph's father was John Browning and his mother was Rachel Girle.  His paternal grandparents were John Browning and Hannah Judd; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Girle and Sarah Reed. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Stephen, William, John, Joseph, James, Elizabeth and Rachel.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 3 on February 14th, 1747 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire.1
