John was born on August 28th, 1659 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire.1  John's father was John Girle and his mother was Margaret Scrapon.  His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Girle and Dorothee Grace. He had a brother named John.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1739 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire.2
