Michael was born in 1907 in Ustrzyki Dolne, East Galicia, Austro Hungary, today in Poland.  Michael's father was Yehuda Ziffer and his mother was Rachel.  His paternal grandparents were Yaakov Zvi Ziffer and Hannah  Yenta (Anchy) Rosenberg. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Yona, Zvi, Moshe, Ester and Rivka.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 81 in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia.  He was buried in Melbourne, Australia.
