Ester was born in 1913 in Ustrzyki Dolne, East Galicia, Austro Hungary, today in Poland.  Ester's father was Yehuda Ziffer and her mother was Rachel.  Her paternal grandparents were Yaakov Zvi Ziffer and Hannah  Yenta (Anchy) Rosenberg. She had four brothers and a sister, named Yona, Michael, Zvi, Moshe and Rivka.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.  She died  due to Holocaust at the age of 29 in 1942.
