Scheindel Ester was born in 1897.  Scheindel Ester's father was Schmil (Samuel) Fern and her mother was Chana Feige Lowenthal.  Her paternal grandparents were Salmen Fern and Golda Rispler; her maternal grandparents were David Lowenthal and Czupa Chupa/Zipora /?. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Hersch Leib, Schlomo Zalman, Jakob, Josef, Chaim, David, Czupa, Ruchel and Ettel Ronie Etka.  She was the seventh oldest of the ten children.
