Samuel Zacharias was born in 1917.  Samuel Zacharias' father was Hersch Leib Fern and his mother was Chaya Wandner.  His paternal grandparents were Schmil (Samuel) Fern and Chana Feige Lowenthal. He had four brothers and a sister, named Avraham Jakob, Eliyahu, Zalman, Josef and Leah.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 28 in 1945.
