Avraham Jakob was born in 1912.  Avraham Jakob's father was Hersch Leib Fern and his mother was Chaya Wandner.  His paternal grandparents were Schmil (Samuel) Fern and Chana Feige Lowenthal. He had four brothers and a sister, named Eliyahu, Samuel Zacharias, Zalman, Josef and Leah.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 32 in 1944.
