Mary Jane Foster

Mary Jane was born in 1881 in Woodside Horsforth Yorkshire.¹ Mary Jane's father was John Burnell Foster and her mother was Sarah Whitehead. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Foster and Hannah Burnell; her maternal grandparents are Mathew Whitehead and Sarah (Whitehead). She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Charles, Thomas, Hannah, Emma, Margaret and Martha Ann. She is the seventh oldest of the eight children.
