Charles was born on September 28th, 1871 in Horsforth Yorkshire.1   Charles' father was John Burnell Foster and his mother was Sarah Whitehead.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Foster and Hannah Burnell; his maternal grandparents are Mathew Whitehead and Sarah (Whitehead). He had two brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, Hannah, Emma, Margaret, Mary Jane and Martha Ann.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 64 in December 1935 in Horsforth Yorkshire.  His burial was on December 4th, 1935 in Horsforth Yorkshire.2 2
