John Burnell was born on February 14th, 1839 in Woodside Horsforth Yorkshire and his baptism took place on March 31st, 1839 in St James Woodside Horsforth Yorkshire.1 2   John Burnell's father was Joseph Foster and his mother was Hannah Burnell.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Foster and Mary (Foster); his maternal grandparents are John Burnill and Mary Dyson. He had three sisters named Mary Jane, Emma and Hannah Maria.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 46 in June 1885 in Horsforth Yorkshire.  His burial was on June 5th, 1885 in Horsforth Cematery 668 3rd Class No Headstone.3 3
