Mary  was born on June 21st, 1815 in Harwich and her baptism took place on September 21st, 1816 in St Nicholas Harwich. Mary 's father was Thomas (Smack Owner) Gowland and her mother was Mary  Elizabeth Martin.  Her maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  She had a sister named Sarah.  She was the older of the two children.  She had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Halifax yard ipswich, Joseph, Edward, John, Shipwrights Arms  West St and Caroline.  She died at the age of 79 on February 19th, 1895.  The funeral took place in St Margarets Barking.  Her burial was in St Margarets Barking.
