Charles was born in June 1857 in Poplar.1  Charles' father was Joseph Worpole (Metal Merchant-Marine Stores) and his mother was Ann of Poplar Noel.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph (of Billericay) Worpole (Journeyman Brewer) and Jemina (Nurse); his maternal grandfather is Richard - Michael Noel and his maternal grandmother was Ann (Hambeldon nr Portsmouth). He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Joseph, Mary and Alice.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 65 in 1922.
