Percy was born in 1894 in Poplar.  Percy's father was Charles (Ship Gen Dealer) Worpole and his mother was Mary Ann E Driscoll.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Worpole (Metal Merchant-Marine Stores) and Ann of Poplar Noel. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Charles, John, George, Millicent, Grace, Milly, Rose and Edith.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.



Percy's family

Percy and Gardiner were married in a religious ceremony in December 1913 in West Ham.1
