Sarah was born in November 1782 in Barking Creek and her christening took place on November 10th, 1782 at St Margaret's Barking.1   Sarah's father was Henry [fisherman] Thredder and her mother was Priscella Vere.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Thredder and Jane Marchant; her maternal grandfather was Henry Vere and her maternal grandmother is Mary. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Wiilliam, William, Joseph, Bannister, John, Jane, Mary, Priscella and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the eleven children.
