Thomas was born on September 17th, 1843 in Shop Street Barking and his christening took place on November 29th, 1843 at St Margaret's  Church Barking conducted by a curate. Thomas' father was William Simmans (shoemaker) and his mother was Hannah Cabburn.  His paternal grandparents were William Simmans (LinenDraper) and Sarah Belchar; his maternal grandparents were William Cabburn (Excise Officer b Gt Marlow ?) and Elizabeth Cuff. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, William, James, George, Walter, Elizabeth, Sarah, Hannah and Sarah.  He died at the age of 85 on October 29th, 1928 in 188 Audrey Rd Barking Essex.  The funeral took place about November 2nd, 1928 at St Margarets Barking.  He was buried on November 2nd, 1928 at St Margarets Barking.1 2 3

Thomas and Susannah were married in a religious ceremony on December 20th, 1864 at St Dunstan Stepney.  They had three sons and seven daughters, named Thomas, Ernest, David, Alice, Ruth, Sarah, Hannah, Emily, Georgina and Susannah.
