Charlotte was born about December 1823 in Barking Essex and her christening took place on January 4th, 1824 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Charlotte's father was Samuel Ship (Blacksmith) and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Duffield. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Samuel, William, Matilda, Mary , Sarah and Rebecca.  She died on January 13th, 1907 in Grimsby.  The funeral took place on January 17th, 1907 in Grimsby.  She was buried on January 17th, 1907 in Scartho Rd Cemetery Grimsby.2 2

Charlotte and Andrew were married in a religious ceremony on November 20th, 1842 in All Saints West Ham witnessed by Joseph Ship & Susanna Quash.  They had seven sons and four daughters, named Andrew, John, William, John, Alfred, Joseph, Albert, Lizzie, Mary, Alice and Kezia.
