John was born in October 1873 in Grimsby.1   John's father was Thomas Douglas Perry (Fisherman) and his mother was Jemima Pollard .  His paternal grandparents are William Perry (Porter) and Douglas; his maternal grandparents were James Pollard (net maker Fisherman) and Jane Malpas. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Henry, Francis, Jane, Margaret, Jemima, Mary and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 1 in November 1874 in Grimsby.  The funeral took place on November 22nd, 1874 at st Andrews Church Grimsby Lincolnshire.  He was buried on November 22nd, 1874 at st Andrews Church Grimsby Lincolnshire.1 1
