Nicholas was born on August 23rd, 1770.  Nicholas' father was John {Shopkeeper} Moungall and his mother was Elizabeth {2nd wife} Brown.  His paternal grandfather was John {Mariner} Moungall and his paternal grandmother is Mary Lone (of Strood). He had two brothers and two sisters, named John , Samuel, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Sarah.
