Louisa was born about 1845 in Shoreditch.  Louisa's father was George Head (Gen Dealer-Green Grocer) and her mother was Ann. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named George, Joseph, James, John, Ann, Eliza, Mary, Susan, Emma, Martha and Charlotte.  She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
