Charlotte was born about 1857 in Shoreditch.  Charlotte's father was George Head (Gen Dealer-Green Grocer) and her mother was Ann. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named George, Joseph, James, John, Ann, Eliza, Mary, Louisa, Susan, Emma and Martha.  She was the youngest of the twelve children.
