    according to Marion Walker at age 87:
    "Samuel Walker was one of the younger of 7 boys and 2 girls.  He worked at the carpenture (sic) trade and lived in Loogootee, Ind.  Married Anna Gootee and had no children.  In later years he joined a group of farmers who were going to buy a lot of land in Mississippi near a town called Gluckstadt.  He loaded his cow, two horses and all of his belongings in a box car a (sic) Loogootee and rode with his livestock all the way down there.  He survived a few years and died sitting up against a tree in his yard reading his favorite magazine, Ave Maria.  He was buried there, survived by his wife, mother in law and brother in law.
    
    Brother Bernard and I visited them in 1917.  They had two blind dates for us.  We never went back, but enjoyed it."
