This James Gray is the grandfather of Jim Gray who lives in the village of Ballylintagh, Macosquin. Jim advises that he was a brother of William Gray, the sexton of Englishtown Presbyterian Church. This was my great grandfather, William Gray.
A James Gray held house 5Ad in Cullyvenny since the Griffiths Valuation in 1858. In Griffiths Valuation Revision Book 20D, a James Gray continues to hold House 5Ad in Cullyvenny but a James Gray Snr. takes over the vacant house next door, 5Ac, in 1898. This means that the James Gray in 5Ad could be a different James Gray, this one who was married to Hannah E Henry, even though no change is shown - the original now being designated James Gray Snr. and moving next door.
In the 1901 census, there are two Gray households in Cullyvenny. There is Eliza Gray, widow, aged 65 living with her son, Robert, aged 40. And there is this one, James Gray, aged 40, his wife Hannah and their 6 children.
