Jessie's father was John Wilson and her mother was Sophia Robertson. Her paternal grandparents were John Wilson and Jessie Mcwilliam. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William, James, Robert, Alfred, Alistair, Maggie, Jane, Johan and Georgina. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 85 in 1979 in Fraserburgh.
