John's father was John Wilson and his mother was Margaret Rennie.  His maternal grandparents were James Rennie and Janet Stronach. He had a brother and a sister, named James and Ann.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 79 on November 28th, 1921 in Banff.
