James' father was John Wilson and his mother was Margaret Rennie.  His maternal grandparents were James Rennie and Janet Stronach. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Ann.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 60 on April 15th, 1909 in Banffshire.
