Margaret's father was James White and her mother was Mary Eaglesome Smith Frew.  Her maternal grandparents were John Frew and Janet Shaw. She had two brothers named Charles and John.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, William, Janet, Annie, Mary and Robertson.  She died at the age of 101 in 1977 in Glasgow.
