Isabella was born on September 19th, 1831 in Paisley and her baptism took place there on November 6th, 1831.1 2  Isabella's father was John Thomson and her mother was Agnes Tours.  Her maternal grandparents were William Tours and Janet Fulton. She had four brothers and a sister, named William, John, John, Alexander and Janet.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She died whilst giving birth, Puerperal fever, 6 days, at the age of 31 on September 5th, 1863 in Gorbals.3
