Agnes was born on November 19th, 1800 in Paisley and her baptism took place on November 23rd, 1800 at High Church, Paisley.

Agnes' father was William Tours and her mother was Janet Fulton.  Her paternal grandparents were Michaill Towrs and Agnes Stewart; her maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named William, William, James, Michael, William, George, John, Alexander, Cecilia and Margaret.  She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.  She died before 1840.¹
