Margaret was born on February 11th, 1803 in Paisley and her baptism took place on March 7th, 1803 in Paisley Abbey parish.^1 2

Margaret's father was William Tours and her mother was Janet Fulton.  Her paternal grandparents were Michaill Towrs and Agnes Stewart; her maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named William, William, James, Michael, William, George, John, Alexander, Cecilia and Agnes.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Bronchitis and Dropsy, 13 weeks, at the age of 64 on June 12th, 1867 in Paisley.³
