George's father was Hugh Taylor and his mother was Mary Robertson. His maternal grandparents were James Robertson and Ann McMurran. He had a sister named Annie. He was the younger of the two children. He died due to a medical problem, debility, duration weeks; diarrhoea, 2 weeks, at 1 months old on August 15th, 1868 in Monkton.¹
