Annie's father was James Robertson and her mother was Janet Fergusson. Her paternal grandparents were James Robertson and Ann McMurran. She had four sisters named Margaret, Mary, Mary and Janet. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 85 in 1952 in Glasgow.
