Mary Reid 
Mary was born in 1849 in Newton-on-Ayr.1 Mary's father was James Reid and her mother was Elizabeth Bell. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Reid and Catharine Fulton. She had six brothers and five sisters, named George, Adam, James, John, Archibald, William, Catherine, Agnes, Elizabeth, Jean and Mary. She was the youngest of the twelve children.
