James Reid

James was born on January 27th, 1798 in Newton-on-Ayr and his baptism took place there on January 28th, 1798.^1 2

James' father was Adam Reid and his mother was Catharine Fulton.  His maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Adam, John, William, Alexander, Archibald, Jean, Marion, Elizabeth, Catherine and Margaret.  He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 61 on October 19th, 1859 in St. Quivox.
