Alexander Reid

Alexander was born on December 22nd, 1799 in Ayr and his baptism took place on December 16th, 1799 in St. Quivox.^1 2

Alexander's father was Adam Reid and his mother was Catharine Fulton.  His maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Adam, John, William, James, Archibald, Jean, Marion, Elizabeth, Catherine and Margaret.  He was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, inflammation of the lungs, at the age of 55 on February 4th, 1855 in Ayr.  He was buried in Newton-on-Ayr.³
