Lillias' father was James Forbes Pollock and her mother was Janet Donald. Her maternal grandparents were William Donald and Janet Towers. She had five brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Robert, David, Andrew, Janet and Agnes. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 54 in 1941 in Glasgow.
