Margaret was born on March 4th, 1773 in Queenzieburn and her baptism took place on March 14th, 1773 in Kilsyth.1 2   Her godfathers were James Patrick, James Miller. Margaret's father was David Patrick and her mother was Jean Simson.  Her maternal grandparents were William Simpson and Margaret Balk. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, David, Jean, Janet, Jean and Agnes.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died after 1841.1
