Agnes' father was David Patrick and her mother was Jean Simson.  Her maternal grandparents were William Simpson and Margaret Balk. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, David, Margaret, Jean, Janet and Jean.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
