Mary's father was Robert Osborn and her mother was Mary Frazer Hamilton.  Her maternal grandparents were Alexander Hamilton and Sara Fraser. She had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Alexander, Robert, David, Alexander, Hugh, Sarah, Janet, Isabella and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother named Hugh.  She died at the age of 47 on June 23rd, 1906 in Hamilton.
