Jessie's father was Robert Mclean and her mother was Elisabeth (Eliza) Cunningham. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Mclean and Janet Mckenzie; her maternal grandparents were Archibald Cunningham and Grace Gowans. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Archibald, Robert, William, Grace and Eliza. She was the third oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 76 on July 30th, 1930 in Toronto. She was buried in Lanark county.
