Elizabeth's father was Archibald Mclean and her mother was Elizabeth McClatchie. Her maternal grandparents were Hugh McLatchie and Agnes Reid. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, William, Archibald, Margaret, Agnes and Elizabeth. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died before 1840.
